Different Backgrounds Are Displayed in the Website Builder and on the Published Website

If the background shown in Hipposerve® Studio looks different from the one displayed on your published website, it is usually because multiple background images have been applied to the same layout.

This most commonly happens when a layout uses both its built-in background and a separate Shape element as a background at the same time.

Why does this happen?

A layout can display a background in more than one way. If more than one background is configured, they can overlap or behave differently between the editor and the published website.

This typically occurs when you have configured:

  • A background image on the Vertical Layout or Horizontal Layout itself using the Background option.
  • A Shape element attached as the layout's Background element.
Important: Using multiple background methods on the same layout can produce different results between the editor and the published website.

How to fix the issue

To ensure your website displays consistently, use only one background method for each layout.

You can resolve the issue by choosing one of the following options:

  1. Remove the background image from the layout's native Background settings.
  2. Detach the Shape element from the layout's Background element setting.
Tip: After making changes, publish your website again and refresh your browser to ensure you are viewing the latest version.
