How to Use the Hipposerve® Studio Vimeo Widget
The Vimeo widget allows you to embed Vimeo videos directly onto your website. It is ideal for portfolios, promotional videos, creative projects, tutorials and professional video content.
Vimeo videos are streamed directly from Vimeo, helping to keep your website fast while displaying high-quality video content.
Adding a Vimeo Video
Adding a Vimeo video to your page only takes a few moments.
- Drag and drop the Media widget onto your page.
- Select a Vimeo composition.
- In the right-hand toolbar, enter the Vimeo ID or URL.
Your Vimeo video will automatically appear once a valid Vimeo ID or URL has been entered.
Customising Your Vimeo Video
The Vimeo widget includes several options to control how your embedded video looks and behaves.
Video Size
Adjust the size of the embedded video using the controls in the right-hand toolbar.
You can also enable Allow to adjust size automatically so the video automatically adapts to different screen sizes.
User Portrait and Title
You can choose whether to show the Vimeo user's portrait and video title on the embedded video.
This can be useful when you want visitors to clearly see who published the video or when the video title provides helpful context.
Autoplay
If you would like the video to start automatically when the page loads, enable the autoplay option in the right-hand toolbar.
Video Controls Colour
You can customise the colour of the Vimeo player controls using the colour option in the right-hand toolbar.
This helps the video player better match your website's design.
Best Practices
- Use high-quality Vimeo videos to give your website a polished, professional feel.
- Enable automatic sizing for the best experience across different devices.
- Use the portrait and title options when they add useful context for visitors.
- Avoid autoplay where possible, as many visitors prefer to start videos themselves.
- Choose a controls colour that is easy to see and fits your website design.
